‘ONE VOICE’ CELEBRATES ITS 10TH ANNIVERSARY AND BIDS FAREWELL TO FOUNDER CHRIS HOSKINS
Thursday 11 December 2014 saw great celebration at Earlsdon’s Methodist Hall, as past members joined family and friends at One Voice’s Christmas concert 2014. Although the seasonal open evening has been an annual event, this year it was extra special, marking the choir’s 10th anniversary with a repertoire spanning the full ten years, incorporating songs from around the world, as well as carols shared with the audience. Above all, it was a very special farewell to its founder, Chris Hoskins, who worked tirelessly and inimitably for a decade.
Over those ten years Chris ensured One Voice never stood still, but embarked on a series of ventures, that not only culminated in two CDs, but also included annual involvement in the Community Choirs’ Festival and concerts in a range of venues, some supporting charities, others part of local events. Earlsdon itself saw the choir in both St Barbara’s and Methodist Churches, in the Albany Social Club and on the High Street’s pavements for Christmas late night shopping.
